Digital Access Policy

This policy was refreshed on May 22, 2024. The Elephant Heritage Trust is dedicated to ensuring elephantheritagetrust.org is navigable for all disabled users, supporting a inclusive global digital community.

Defining Web Inclusion

A digitally inclusive site ensures that all users, regardless of ability, can navigate the interface with equivalent ease. This is achieved through robust platform architecture, adherence to standard coding practices, and full compatibility with modern assistive software.

Digital Enhancements on Our Website

We strive to make our digital space inclusive for all users. Our team aims to follow the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines and is proactively working to improve the accessibility of our website. While we are continuously reviewing our platform to remove barriers, please be aware that certain features may still be in development or undergoing optimization. We are committed to an ongoing process of enhancing navigation, implementing descriptive text for imagery, and refining technical elements to better support assistive technologies. Just as we protect wildlife in the field, we are dedicated to protecting the rights of all users to access conservation resources online without difficulty.

Compliance Limitations Regarding Integrated External Services

The functionality of specific sections relies on third-party software that is not under our direct control. This specifically involves our external donation interface. Consequently, we note that full compliance is limited strictly to the primary pages hosted on our server.

Commitment to Virtual Accessibility

As a purely digital wildlife conservation organization, Elephant Heritage Trust operates exclusively online. We focus our accessibility efforts on creating an inclusive virtual environment for our global audience. Because we do not maintain a physical office or visitor center open to the public, we prioritize the removal of digital barriers to ensure that all our conservation resources, educational content, and online advocacy tools are fully usable by everyone through their personal devices.
